Puppy Supplies Checklist
◻ Nylon Collar & Leash. You will want to start out with a size small and eventually move up to a medium or large. Leash should be 4-6 feet. NOTE: NO slip-on leashes until at least 18 months of age. Using slip-on leashes can severely damage your puppy’s neck if used too early.
◻ Food and water bowls.
◻ Crate. Crate training is important in case of emergencies and for safe transportation. Even if you do not plan on using a crate for your dog, it’s very important that they are still familiar and comfortable.
◻ Dog beds. We really love the raised platform beds from Amazon. They are easy to clean and all of the dogs really love them.
◻ ID tag. Even though your puppy comes to you already microchipped, you are more likely to get a pet returned to you if they have an easy-to-find ID tag on its collar. Some people do not know about micro-chips and won’t know to look for one.
◻ Puppy Food: We highly recommend Purina Pro Plan, but you are always more than welcome to discuss other options with me or your vet.
◻ Training treats: A nice and easy bag of 1-ingredient liver training treats usually does the trick!
◻ A training clicker if clicker training, and a good-quality dog whistle.
◻ Plenty of toys. Goldens really love to carry soft things around. Fillable Kong toys and tennis balls are also great choices. Puppies chew. And puppies bite. Keep their minds and their teeth entertained with lots of different options.
◻ Poop bags for walks & a pooper scooper for home
Grooming Supplies:

◻ Comb
